Medium: Discarded materials
The Last Glimpse presents 73 endangered species through textile and mixed-media artworks, each representing a diorama that reflects the threats these species face in their natural habitats. Through these visual narratives, the artworks highlight the fragile existence of these species and the human-induced challenges that threaten their survival.
The artworks are created using discarded everyday materials such as tins, containers, cardboard boxes, reclaimed fabrics, and metal scraps collected from across the city. These materials have been transformed through techniques such as crochet, weaving, hand and machine embroidery, sculpting, papier-mâché, and other mixed-media processes, giving new meaning and purpose to materials that would otherwise have been discarded.
